CfastSmileTRU Clear Aligner questions

?

Do I have to be accredited to be able to use the CfastSmileTRU System or clear aligners?
Yes, but accreditation is simple and free. Here is the link?Accreditation video
For more information, please contact John Marchant - General Manager john.marchant@tripleodentallabs.com?

Is CfastSmileTRU suitable for all orthodontic cases?
Although CfastSmileTRU is suitable for a wide range of orthodontic cases, it is not right for every case.
The lab will advise you if a case is not suitable and should be able to offer a different method of treatment for that individual case based on the patients requirements and the clinicians skill level.

What impression material should I use?
We do not insist on any particular material, please use which ever you feel most comfortable with. What matters most is that the impression is of good quality and captures the distal aspect of the last standing tooth in each arch.

Will I need to do IPR?
IPR may be required in a CfastSmileTRU case. Exactly how much to do, where and when to do it will be detailed to you with your initial digital setup before the actual treatment is approved for production.?

How do I know how many CfastSmileTRU aligners?will be required for a case?
This will be something that you will be able to determine once you have some experience with the system. As a basic guide:
The more teeth you are treating, the more aligners that will be required.
It is important to select the correct level on the CfastSmileTRU lad slip.
Options are 2-2, 3-3, 5-5 or full arch.
Treatment can be single or dual arch but this is case dependent.
The laboratory will advise you of the number of aligners at the digital setup stage before you give the go ahead to produce the clear aligners.

How do I access the predicted 3D setups?
You will be e-mailed a link for your digital setup

How can I view the 3D setups that you send me?
No special software is required to view the predicted digital setup. This can be viewed on a pc, mac, tablet or smart phone

Can I view the 3D setups using an Apple Mac?
Yes, the 3D set ups can be viewed on an Apple Mac?

How long is each aligner worn for?
Each aligner is worn for 10 days. It should be worn all of the time except for eating, drinking and oral hygiene. Only move onto the next aligner when your current one feels passive.

Can I give a case go ahead by telephone?
Yes

Can patients eat and drink whilst wearing CfastSmileTRU clear aligners?
No, the CfastSmileTRU aligner should be removed for eating, oral hygiene and for drinking any fluids other than cold water.

Are there any dietary restrictions when using CfastSmileTRU?
No, as the aligners are removable for eating, there are no dietary restrictions when in CfastSmileTRU therapy. You can still eat your favourite foods without fear of the appliance staining or breaking.

Trouble shooting aligner first fitting

Always try the fit of?aligner A1 before placing any composite attachments. If? this fits correctly and the 1st aligner does not after placing the attachments, you know that there is something worng with how the attachments have been added. Please remove the attachments and redo them.

Incisal edge gap

There should be no gap between the aligner and the incisal edges of the teeth. If there is a gap in the first aligner then there is probably caused by an innaccurate 3D model. this could be the result of a distorted or poor quality impression or an error in the initial scanning of the model. Contact the lab and arrange for new impressions to be sent to us. If the fit of the aligners gets worse over the course of treatment, then this is probably due to the case not tracking correctly. This is usually due to poor compliance by the patient not wearing the aligner for long enough before moving onto the next one. Try going back a step with the previous aligner, if this fits, wear this one for another week and then try the next aligner again. You may need to go back 2 steps if necessary. If this doesn't work then an in treatment correction will be required, please send us new impressions for this.

Tracking issues

You will need to impress on your patients the importance of wearing the aligners for 24?hours a day, just removing them for eating, drinking and oral hygiene. Any non compliance is likely to lead to tracking issues in their case. Patients must inform you immediately if they feel that the fit is not correct to prevent the case going too far off track. Always ensure that your patients use the chewies to help seat the aligners correctly.?

Some signs of non compliance are:

  • Unusually clean aligners at their appointments
  • Missed appointments
  • Requesting new aligners too early or too late compared with their wear schedule

Cfast Fixed Bracket and Wire Questions

Cfast sounds too good to be true ? what?s the catch?
There isn?t one. Cfast is a fast, effective and affordable treatment when adult patients are seeking to correct their smiles. Because it does not claim to address major orthodontic issues, Cfast can be done very quickly, making it more affordable than most other orthodontic options.

How does Cfast differ from other fast orthodontics programs?
There are minor differences in technique between Cfast and other programs. The major difference is the cost of the training: Cfast costs only ?599 compared with ?1500 for other programs.

How can Cfast straighten the teeth in such a short time?
Cfast takes less time because it focuses only on the ?social six?, the front teeth that most influence the smile. The process is further enhanced with the use of special nickel-titanium wires, which exert gentle pressure to force movement in the teeth.

Braces are unpopular with adult patients. Isn?t it the same with Cfast?
No. With its clear brackets and tooth-colored wires, Cfast is barely noticeable ? and they?re worn for a fraction of the time compared to traditional braces.

Normal braces can be very uncomfortable for the patient. Is Cfast?
Standard orthodontic mechanics are still involved, but because it's just the front teeth, the force required is minimal. The nickel-titanium wires exert mild pressure to force the teeth to move, and this is done without the need for severe tightening.

Is a retainer necessary at the end of treatment?
Yes. Like all tooth-straightening treatments, the gains of Cfast may be lost if a retainer is not worn. The patient can choose between a removable retainer and a permanently bonded retainer. The choice depends on preference and the individual case.
